It's been a long time since I sat down to look at my blog stats. I typically only have time to check out who's linking to me (thank you! You know who you are!) but not much else. Well, today I decided to check out what kind of search terms people are using that end up leading them to The Bold Soul.
And it's just as bizarre as usual, I'm afraid. This time, in addition to the usual plethora of "is he into me?", "over 40 and still single", and anything to do with the guillotine, we've got the following:
- thou smell of mountain goat - okay, this is Will Shakespeare's line, so how is it I'm #1 out of 53,700 search results on this one?
- monkeys - the search terms varied, but I was surprised to see that the primates are leading visitors to my door. Then again, I have blogged about taking the Little Guy to the zoo on more than one occasion and we do like to see the monkeys.
- worms in kitchen cabinets - ugh. I remember THAT episode in our lives only too well. Sorry to hear that others are having the same foul experience.
- he left me his number at the end of the email dating - Oh, honey... did you NOT see Drew Barrymore's pathetic character in the HJNTIY movie? Also Ginnifer Goodwin's character? Email dating? Sure, I met my husband online but we did live chat for a few hours and then booked a real, live, in-person lunch date (and we did a phone call before that as well). Forget this loser and find a real man to date. One who asks for your number and can't even wait 24 hours before using it to tell you how fabulous he thinks you are.
- readers digest kings and queens loire valley written in french language - HUH? You know it's possible to construct such a strange search sequence that you confuse the hell out of Google. It ain't perfect, you know, and it can't read your mind.
- girly feet - really hope that wasn't a dude with a complex about his own feet
- how to pronounce "grenouille" - I come up about 9th on this list which is pretty cool considering I still don't quite want to believe that my French teachers have been teaching me WRONG all these years. This is still a source of debate in my marriage.
- versailles tour is there a lot of walking - I'll save you the trouble of the search: YES! It's a HUGE chateau with ENORMOUS grounds (for the grounds you can rent a golf cart, which helps) so comfy shoes are a must, but if mobility is a real issue, check their web site in advance to find out what they can and can't do to accommodate you. This is a very old building and like many such buildings in France, they haven't necessarily been willing or able to make it all handicapped-accessible. And there is no ADA-type law in France to make them do it, either.
- how do you pronounce "Advil" in French - uh, that would be "ad-VEEL". See? I'm getting so much better at French, yes?
