Sorry I've been MIA for the past week but I had the Final Garage Sale of my garage sale career to prep and execute and clean up afterward. Fortunately I got rid of mostly every major thing I needed to sell, and the rest I donated to a charity.
Today was another major hurdle: I was back in New York to pick up my French marriage documents -- so now Georges and I are legally married in both countries -- and so all the official documentation has been taken care of, too.
If I wasn't so damn exhausted, I'd be doing the Happy Feet dance right about now. But I'm a-dancin' on the inside, trust me.
In about 48 hours, my belle-fille and I will be boarding our return flight to Paris, where the men in our newly blended family are waiting for us... Georges most impatiently of all, I think.
I can't wait to see him again. What an amazing trip this has been, despite discovering just yesterday that my laptop will no longer boot it's operating system and this might mean some serious trouble. However I'm so happy about everything else that I'm giving myself permission NOT to freak out about it until I'm back in Paris and can get the stupid thing to a specialist.
I know my priorities, and right now my priority is to just be happy that everything went so perfectly this month. I even got to make my step-daughter extra happy today, because we were able to hook up with her Parisian boyfriend who is in New York this week with his parents on vacation!
Love is just in the air around here these days. And Amen to THAT, right?
Anyway, posting will be light for the rest of this week, what with packing, traveling, jet lag and the like. More photos will also have to wait until I can get them out of the temperamental computer (and I sure hope they're still IN there!)
I'll be back soon.
