A Personal Message from Lisa:
After a relaxing weekend en famille, with all three of my husband's kids at home (plus the girlfriend of the oldest), I was reflecting this morning on how much my life has changed in the past five years -- all because I got more clear on what I really wanted for my life, and then because I allowed nothing to stand in the way of creating that vision for myself. I even ended up attracting the love of my life, who so closely matched my vision for my ideal partner that I had no trouble recognizing him instantly, the moment we met.
That's what having a clear vision can bring to your life: once you make the effort to clarify precisely what you want and make it a priority to do the things that will help you get there, it makes your life simpler in the long run. You find it easier to make decisions when you measure them against the litmus test of "will this bring me closer to my vision, or farther away?" Ha! Once you have your vision to help you define your boundaries and standards in this way, it's a piece of cake to know what to say "Yes" to, and what to let go of.
This week, we'll look at what it means to be more clear in your vision for living a bolder, more exceptional life. I also cordially invite you to join me and the Pearl members of the NO EXCUSES Coaching™ Club tomorrow afternoon at 4pm Eastern for our monthly coaching call, where our topic is "Creating Your Bold Vision". Details for enrolling follow below, and at just $24.97 you can't go wrong!

Feature Article: Have Vision, Will Travel
I've seen it many times before: a well-intentioned person who really wants to change her life in a big way comes to me for coaching. Yet when I ask this person to tell me what she wants her life to look like, she seems completely stuck on the answer. "I don't exactly know... I just know I want to be happier in my life".
Can you relate to this scenario? You know you want something more, something better in your life, but you don't know what it is? Here's the thing about that: how can you expect to have that "something better" if you, yourself, can't define what it looks like?
Trying to live your life more boldly requires some vision, and by "vision" I mean that you've got some sort of reasonably clear picture in your mind of what you desire. You might not know all the "hows" of the vision, as in how you're going to execute each step along the way -- and that's OK because very few people do; most of us figure out the "how" as we go along. But you at least have a good visualization of the "what". It's like when I wanted to move to Paris before I actually got here: I could see Paris in my mind's eye, could picture myself walking through familiar neighborhoods, and even visualized myself doing normal everyday things like grocery shopping. I could see myself writing here. Having an apartment to come home to. Doing the laundry. Sitting in a café with a cup of coffee and a book. Going to museums. Standing on the Pont des Arts (my favorite place) just watching the bateaux-mouches drift by with hordes of tourists... and knowing I wasn't one of them, I actually LIVED here. I had this vision firmly fixed in my mind all the while I was figuring out how I was going to do it in reality. And I could FEEL all the emotions of being here, too. The wonder. The excitement. The satisfaction.
When you try to create a bolder life for yourself without a clear vision of what it's going to look like and feel like, it's exactly as if you're trying to drive cross-country without a road map; you'll get somewhere eventually, but probably not where you want to be. People who choose to drift through life with no clear vision are also those who often end up dissatisfied with what they've got; then they scratch their heads and wonder how they got there in the first place. The answer? Because they weren't living CONSCIOUSLY, they weren't LIVING BY DESIGN, they were flying on auto-pilot. No wonder they're not happy with their destination.
How can you expect the Universe to give you something better if you don't even know what that is? The Universe will always give us what we focus on most, so if what you're focusing on is a confusing picture of your life where you're just unhappy and discontented and you don't even know why, the Universe will only be able to give you more of the same. But when you can stop and reflect, when you can give yourself the gift of a clear vision for your future life, the Universe will begin to reward you with progress in the right direction. The more clear and specific your vision, the more likely you are to get where you want to go -- and in record time, too.
Renew your commitment today to becoming more clear on what's really important to you in your life. What kind of life do you really want? What do you want to be doing? Where do you want to be doing it? Who do you want to be there with you? What does it look like? Feel like? Asking these questions will help you get, in time, to a vision that is SO crystal clear that you'll be unstoppable in creating it!
Bold Tip of the Week
This week, take at least 30 minutes to sit quietly, alone with no distractions. Take several deep breaths to relax your body and detach your mind from whatever else is going on in your day. Have a pad of paper and a pen handy. Now, ask the most powerful question I know:
"If I could do anything with my life, be anything, and have anything, and there were NO obstacles of any kind... what would it look like?"
Whatever comes to mind, write it down. If it still feels murky, keep asking the question until it gets more clear. The answer is already there, within you, and what you're doing is giving it permission to come out and show itself.
Caveat: I didn't say the answer wouldn't be scary. Big dreams usually are... at first. But they are also wondrous and exciting! All you're doing right now is being open to looking at your own dreams for your life, to uncover the truth that is already waiting within you. Just have fun with it: remember, there ARE no obstacles!
