Taking a little walk on Sunday, Georges and I passed this restaurant in the 2ème arrondissement, so of course I had to get a special photo:
After that, I didn't think about this restaurant at all; it was a nice photo opp, nothing more.
But then today, I happened to spot a very nice review of the restaurant by Patricia Wells in her iPhone app, The New Food Lover's Guide to Paris (I was checking out the free sample version). She also wrote about it in 1998 on her blog (and for the NY Times); and yes, that really was a few years back -- she quoted the prices in FRANCS in the blog article. Gilles Pudlowski (of the Pudlo Paris annual restaurant guides) also called it "timeless" in 2011. It's not a place to eat on the cheap, but also not so fancy that you can't dress comfortably and just go to enjoy a good meal.
Which make me think we really need to try it, and soon. I'm no gourmet chef or food critic, of course... but I do kind of have a thing for the name "Georges" now, you know.
