Nine Days More

I know we ("we" = rabid Les Mis fans everywhere) all think of Colm Wilkerson as the ultimate Jean Valjean. And I agree: he embodies the role. I only hope Hugh Jackman has somehow channeled a bit of Colm's voice and energy (and Colm is playing the Bishop in the movie, how cool!)

But Alfie Boe's voice, as he sings "Bring Him Home"? He is absolutely magnificent and brings me to tears every time.

 

I have to say, this song has taken on a special significance for me, now that my nephew Steve has been deployed to Afghanistan for up to 9 months. "Bring Him Home" just sums it right up: it's what I'm praying for every day.
